KP Astrology Introduction

When the Rashi and Navamsha charts remain virtually the same for nearabout 15 minutes, how can we explain the differences between the lifestyles of the twins when one among
them studied Engineering and another Medicine. One among them goes abroad
and another never crosses his hometown. One among them has many issues and
another has no issues. One among them is fair in colour and another black in
colour. One among them lives longer and other dies soon? Such differences
in the lives of twins revealed many secrets.

The whole calculation of K.P. system is based on the Vimshottari Dasha system. The division of the zodiac into 12 signs, 27 constellations (of 13 degrees and 20 minutes)
each and 108 Padas (quarters) was found inadequate by Sri K.S. Krishnamurti.
He did intensive research with Nadi texts and concluded that the zodiac must be further subdivided for accurate predictions.  Sri Krishnamurti invented the
Sub Lord theory which is based on the Vimshottari system.

The connection between Vimshottari system (counted from the moon) and sub
lords is as follows:

Each constellation has a lord, called star lord.

As there are 27 constellations and only 9 planets to act as their star
lords, 3 constellations have the same planet as star lord. This will divide
the sky in 3 parts from star lord point of view and 0° to 120°,  120° to 240°
and 240° to 360°  have the same star lord structure as you can clearly see
in the sub lord tables of our list file.

You might know that each constellation or nakshatra extends over 13°20. This
are 800 minutes. Vimshottari dasha period completes one cycle in 120 years. So, 800 minutes are distributed to the 9 planets including Rahu and Ketu in the same order and in the same proportion in which the Dasha periods are allotted under the Vimshottari Dasha system. 800 divided through 120 are 6 minutes and 40 seconds. This will be multiplied by the Dasha period. You know that there are 20 years for Venus and 18 years for Rahu, but only 7 years for mars in our Dasha system. Thus, one can calculate the extent of each sub by multiplying as follows:

As usual, let`s start with Ketu:

Zero degree 6 minutes 40 seconds multiplied with 7 (years for Ketu`s Dasha) will give 0 degree 46 minutes and 40 seconds.

Shortly: 0°6’40” x 07 = 0°46’40”

Thus Ketu`s part in a constellation will give the size of  0°6’40” for the sub lord.
According to this a sub lord in Venus period will extend over 2°13’20” because
6 minutes 40 seconds multiplied with 20 (years for Venus Dasha) will give 2°13’40”

Ketu:        0°6’40”  x 07 = 0°46’40”

Venus:     0°6’40”  x 20 = 2°13’20”

Sun:          0°6’40”  x 06 = 0°40’00”

Moon:      0°6’40”  x 10 = 1°06’40”

Mars:       0°6’40”  x 07 = 0°46’40”

Rahu:       0°6’40”  x 18 = 2°00’00”

Jupiter:    0°6’40”  x 16 = 1°46’40”

Saturn:    0°6’40”  x 19 = 2°06’40”

Mercury: 0°6’40”  x 17 = 1°53’20”

TOTAL:                          13°20’00’’              being 249  Sub Lords

One will find out the Sub Sub Lords by making further subdivisions as done above.
This would give 2193 Sub Subs (which will be used in CIL).

Relationship between K.P. and Vimshottari Dasha system:

Star (=Nakshtra) Lord =      Mahadasha Lord (= MD Lord)

Sub Lord                          =      Antardasha Lord (= Bukti Lord)

Sub Sub  Lord                 =      Pratyantar Dasha Lord ( = Antra Lord)

Sub Sub Sub Lord          =      Sookshma Dasha Lord

Sub Sub Sub Sub Lord  =      Prana Dasha Lord

So, we can take these subs and sub subs like glasses, microscopes and electronic microscopes for fixing time of events. It`s a bit like our divisional charts but these divisional charts cannot be taken to predict an event but only to look deeper into the rashi chart. In both cases we`ll need a very exact time of birth because these fine subdivisions will give wrong results otherwise. This is the reason why hora charts are very much used in KP astrology.
